Shooting Stars

Ages: 2 years
Ratio: 1 teacher per 5 students

The Shooting Star room is where fairly dependent 2 year olds transform into fairly independent 3 year olds. Our children typically spend about 9 months in the Shooting Star room, mastering the use of stairs, learning to use their words to express feelings and needs, and learning to function in group settings. During this time their gross and fine motor skills are undergoing rapid development as they learn to use spoons and scissors and to conquer obstacle courses.
The Shooting Stars begin to learn responsibility for their actions by taking care of their belongings, participating in clean-up time, and reasoning out the purpose for rules. The low teacher-to-student ratio is ideal for providing personalized focus and thoughtful responses to the constant flow of “whys” that come from 2 year olds. The Shooting Star room is a very happy and nurturing place for children in an especially critical time of their development into excellent human beings.
